Core2Africa Product Focus

Core2Africa promotes, sells and implements Sandvine deep-packet inspection (DPI) solutions and services, including policy traffic switches (PTS) and traffic control protocol (TCP) accelerators, along with Active Network Intelligence (ANI) and Insights. All implementations are conducted using Core2Africa Professional Services, following a Structured 7-Step End-to-End Approach, and supported by Core2Africa Maintenance & Support Services.

PTS 32000

Sandvine’s PTS 32000 empowers network operators to introduce or transition to 100GE-enabled network policy control precisely when, where, and how they want. It offers the world’s best performance, with support for 100GE, 40GE, and 10GE interfaces in compact, low-power hardware.

Like all Policy Traffic Switch models, the PTS 32000 incorporates unique architectural features that convey real-world operator benefits, including hardware-based load distribution, separate data management, and data processing functions, software bypass capability, and inter-model clustering. Read more . . .

TCP Accelerator

Sandvine’s TCP Accelerator allows network operators to dramatically improve network efficiency and quality of experience (QoE), without making changes to the network infrastructure.

TCP Accelerator addresses the main issues associated with TCP, including the incompatibility of bandwidth availability and TCP speeds. It also addresses the inefficiencies caused by multiple concurrent TCP connections by transparently bridging the access network with the transit network; it is in a position to manage all the network’s TCP connections as a collective whole. Read more . . .

Active Network Intelligence (ANI)

Sandvine’s Active Network Intelligence (ANI) Portal enables network operators to visualize the data that powers Sandvine’s entire use case portfolio. Each use case is visualized with the key outcomes presented clearly to enable the network operator to determine the value and ROI delivered by Sandvine’s deployed solutions.

The ANI portal delivers contextual insights for each use case, including unique quality of experience (QoE) metrics at the network and individual subscriber level. These insights are mapped to the workflow of the network owner of the specific use case, ensuring that the actionability of the data is maximized. With the intelligence presented by the ANI Portal, the network operator can make informed decisions and take action based on accurate data. Read more . . .

Insights

Sandvine’s Insights product family aggregates the intelligence collected from your entire network and visualizes it based on the use case deployed on your network. Insights support all solution areas deployed in your network, enabling you to reduce CAPEX, generate additional revenue, and improve quality of experience (QoE). The Insights portfolio combines the power of Insights Data Storage with the visualization of Deep Insights to enable operators to manage outcome-driven use cases for networks.

As network operators transform their networks to cloud deployments and embrace automation, access to network intelligence that reveals network performance in the context of delivered QoE will be critical, especially to verify that automation use cases are delivering the right outcomes. This intelligence is fed by Sandvine’s deployed software, and enriched with attributes like subscriber, location, device, and service plan to ensure that the appropriate context is reflected in the presentation of the data for the different departments in the operators’ back office. Read more . . .

Packet Logic Platform

The PacketLogic platform offering can support a wide variety of deployments, regardless of size or access. It provides operators with the flexibility and ease of operations that reduce time-to-market but delivers a higher return on investment. Read more . . .

Packet Logic Bypass Switch

Sandvine Bypass Switch is an active external bypass switch that is designed to protect network integrity during adjacent network failures, product failures, and network maintenance. This enables even the most cautious network manager to deploy Sandvine products inline.

The Bypass Switch supports multiple modes of operations which allows for seamless automatic failover. In inline mode, the Bypass Switch diverts inline network traffic to attached inline network systems such as PacketLogic Real-Time Enforcement/iQ units. In bypass mode, the Bypass Switch does not divert the traffic to the attached inline network system and diverts it to another network link.

The stand-alone architecture of Sandvine Bypass Switch enables it to manage installations with any PacketLogic system, from entry-level systems and all the way up to the high-end appliances and chassis-based PacketLogic systems. Read more . . .

Active Network Intelligence Use Cases for Network Operators

Sandvine’s solutions make networks more efficient, enable service differentiation, rationalize disparate data sources, and increase profit margins. With 2.5 billion network users across more than 160 major operators and 500 enterprises benefiting from using Sandvine as their network intelligence innovator and partner, Active Network Intelligence from Sandvine is powering the next wave of network transformation.

Disruptive Mobile Analytics

Experiential Network Intelligence

The 3GPP 5G standard introduced a Network Data Analytics (NWDA) function to mobile network architectures and has defined a collection of initial use cases that specify what kind of data can be provided to feed 5G network decisions. ETSI has recognized the importance of the customer experience and launched an Experiential Network Intelligence (ENI) ISG that leverages artificial intelligence on network analytics to adjust services based on changes in user needs, environmental conditions, and business goals; ETSI has also defined a set of initial use cases that demonstrate how an ENI system would enhance networks. When these two powerful solutions are combined into a single network intelligence solution, they will create a disruptive advantage for a mobile operator – today and in the 5G future.

2018 Global Internet Phenomena Report

This edition of the report will cover both global macro and regional micro views of the composition of traffic on the internet. Sandvine’s value proposition to our customers is the accuracy and granularity of our network intelligence, so we focus on identifying as many applications as we can, despite how the internet is becoming more encrypted.

TCP Optimisation

The Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) is the engine of the internet. Due to its ubiquitous use in video streaming, web browsing, file transfers, communications, and other application types, TCP typically represents 85% to 90% of fixed access internet traffic and as much as 96% of mobile internet traffic.
